Hearts, and flowers and candy-oh my

I think I’ve got all the boxes checked with my Valentine’s table scape.

Hearts – I made the paper hearts from pages out of an old encyclopedia. I put the pages on the Cricut and input a small, medium and large sized heart. On top of the paper hearts I scattered pink glitter, not sure if you can see from the pics but some of the glitter is X’s and O’s. The wooden hearts on the plates came from Target. They were plain wood so I painted them pink and made them up to look like conversation hearts. They do have a slot for a place card, but I didn’t do that this time.

Flowers – I grabbed 2 different types of red flowers and 2 different types of greenery from Kroger. I picked up the white vase at Home Goods and tied a red and white ribbon on it. I like the way this arrangement turned out, it’s not real formal.

Candy – Apothecary jars and an old silver plate sugar bowl to hold the candies. I really planned on putting conversation hearts in one of the jars but couldn’t find any at Krogers.

Table setting – the red dishes are vintage and I could only find 4, so I did different ones at the heads of the table. I wrapped silver plate cutlery in white napkins and tied with red and white ribbon. All the plates, cutlery and napkins are vintage. The table cloth came from Target. I liked that the red had a washed out look.

What would a valentine’s table scape be without some candles? The candle sticks are ones I used on my mantle at Christmas.

We don’t usually do a big thing for Valentine’s Day, but we are having friends over for dinner on the 15th. I’m making a baked rigatoni casserole with prosciutto and béchamel sauce. For dessert – Raspberry pink velvet cake! Oh, and pomegranate mimosas. Hope the food turns out as good as the table scape!!
